NZIX AGM: A MESSAGE FROM COMMITTEE NOMINEE KEVIN COX

Dear NZIX Members

I am putting myself forward as a nominee for this year’s committee elections as I think I have the skills, experience and attributes required to be a committee member.

I have been fortunate enough to spend some time on the committee and have been able to assist the committee with its goal of internet in New Zealand for all.

I am originally from the UK with a background in large high availability networks from my time working as an engineer for BskyB Ltd. Myself and my family decided to up sticks and emigrate to New Zealand, opening a whole new world of opportunity for my career.  I have gained a very good understanding of how the internet is deployed in New Zealand.  This was achieved from my beginnings as a support engineer followed by six years in managerial roles supporting internet access around New Zealand.  I have a desire for problem solving and look forward to the challenges that would be presented to me as a committee member.

I also can be found sampling the craft beers brewed in Wellington or cycling around Wellington training for the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge.

If anyone would like to contact me I can be found at kevin.cox@dtsanz.com.

Thanks for your time in reading this.

Kind Regards

Kevin Cox
