Have you explored the new NZIX website?

The NZIX committee determined that a refresh of the website was necessary due to several critical issues with the old site. The previous website had multiple broken sections, rendering us unable to effectively edit or update content. This unreliability extended to publishing posts and pages on schedule, hampering our communication efforts. Furthermore, the site’s navigation was not user-friendly, making it difficult to access links to external sites and find information about our Members, exchanges and services.

We undertook a complete restructuring and rewriting of the site to ensure it met our standards. The new design not only enhances functionality but also allows us to maintain and expand the site efficiently.

New Features and Enhancements

The upgraded website includes several new features aimed at improving user experience:

  • Enhanced Member Showcase: All Members are now prominently listed with their PeeringDB links.
  • Improved Exchange Maps: We provide clearer, more detailed maps of our exchanges.
  • Improved Services Showcase:  We now comprehensive information on our service offerings.
  • Interactive Home Page: The home page now offers more information and interactivity, making it easier for Members to access essential tools directly from the landing page.
  • Increased Member Engagement: New interactive elements, such as a form for requesting Points of Presence (PoPs), have been added to facilitate Member engagement.

Looking ahead, we are planning Phase 2 of the website development, which will include live tracking of NZIX’s performance data for our Members.
